STORY OF THE WEEK
THE £44 spotlights I attached to the front of my new Mini have attracted some critical attention since I mentioned them on the radio.
They don’t work – they are purely there for cosmetic effect – but the car now looks like it belongs on the set of the Italian Job.
Pulling off the M60 at lights near the Trafford Centre, a motorist who had heard me talking about them on the airwaves clocked my headlamps, wound down his window, pointed to them, gave me the thumbs-up and burst out laughing.
Why hide your lights under a bushel when you can attach them to the bumper of your Mini?
