Pear-shaped... it’s all gone

-

RAIDERS stripped an orchard of all its pears – destined to help the needy.

They also took thousands of apples, damsons and plums from trees in an overnight heist.

More than 70 trees at The Secret Orchard in Lewes, East Sussex, were left bare of produce destined for a foodbank and an eco cider-making business.

Orchard founder Mathew Moulding, who has offered a £1,000 reward to catch the crooks, said it was “soul-destroying”.

In July, £2,000-worth of chicken coops were stolen from the site,.
