HUNT ON FOR TORY CUTTER

JEREMY Hunt’s ears must have been burning at the weekend after I heard him being savagely denounced.

I was in South Shields marketplace where a large crowd were passionately fighting to save services in a local hospital, which I’d been to the night before to see my ailing father.

The Tory axeman should be terrified because people have had enough. They are fed up to the back teeth with the abuse received by the NHS, an adored public service that’s our nation’s common religion.

The inspiring fury I witnessed on South Tyneside – where Hunt’s henchmen waste precious money on a sham consultation to justify hurting patients – is spreading all over the country. It’s our NHS, not Hunt’s. The backlash has been a long time coming. It deserves to sweep him away.
