MYSTERY BUG Brendan CLASS She sang hit The Best ICON On stage at Wembley Arena in 1987 TINA Turner proves the magic is still there as she steps on to the stage in London yesterday.

The singing legend, 77, came out of retirement after seven years to help launch the new musical about her life, called Tina. She sounded as good as ever as she joined actress Adrienne Warren, who will play her, at the Hospital Club to sing her hit The Best.

But she admitted she enjoys being out of the limelight.

Tina said: “I am very excited to be a part of this. This took me out of retirement. Retirement is wonderful, it’s easy to sleep long. Do what you want, decorate the house two of three times. Easy things that you dreamed about when you were working.”

The superstar, whose last concert was in 2009, said her fans persuaded her to come back.

She said: “People say I gave them hope. It means so much to people I have to pass it on. I want it to be a success. I hope it will travel the world and serve what people need, as a reminder of my work.”

Tina opens at London’s Aldwych Theatre in April 2018.
