Pup ‘breeder’ cheat caged

A WOMAN who advertised “home-bred” dogs but illegally imported them from a puppy farm in Ireland has been jailed.

Helen Moorey claimed the border collie pups had been vet-checked. Police investigated after they were found to be very ill.

At Reading magistrates Moorey, 55, of Ashbury, Oxon, was found guilty of fraud and got eight weeks.

Police said she preyed on animal lovers and the impact on them was “emotional and financial”.
