‘WE WERE HOODWINKED’
Paramedic Derek McCarthy has had to delay giving up full time work after he and his wife lost £80,000 from the collapse in Lloyds’ share price and unpaid dividends.
The 55-year-old former navy bomb disposal diver said: “We’ve been Lloyds shareholders for more than 30 years but have been hoodwinked. Shareholders were sacrificed to save a bankrupt business.”
McCarthy, from Penryn, near Falmouth, Cornwall, said he and his wife had put £1,000 towards the fighting fund for the group legal action and is angry former Lloyds’ bosses are still being bankrolled.
“It’s disgusting,” he said.
