KLOPP’S MARVELS IN SEVEN HEAVEN
LIVERPOOL rewrote the history books with an incredible recordbreaking display.
Jurgen Klopp’s side recorded the club’s biggest away win in Europe with a devastating destruction of Maribor. The Reds had given little warning of the havoc they
unleashed, but two goals each from Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino set them on course for a staggering victory.
Salah said: “It was a great game, we did good. It was an important result and we have to keep looking forward.
“Now we have to concentrate on improving the results in the Premier League and keep on moving. Everyone was confident a good result was coming.”
It was Liverpool’s second-biggest away win in any competition in history, beaten only by an 8-0 swagger at Stoke in 2000 in the League Cup.
Klopp was beaming as Philippe Coutinho added another, sub Alex OxladeChamberlain finally came to the party and youngster Trent Alexander-Arnold rounded off the scoreline in the final minute.
