Lineker swipe after Foxes sack boss Shakespeare
GARY LINEKER launched a scathing attack on Leicester City’s “ineptitude” after Craig Shakespeare (left) was axed.
The former Foxes legend hit out at the decision-makers at
the King Power, after the 53-yearold’s four-month tenure as manager came to an abrupt end yesterday. Referencing the club’s title triumph, Lineker tweeted: “It was a miracle, but it is even more remarkable really, given the ineptitude of those that run the club.” Shakespeare had little inkling of his fate, after turning up at the club’s training ground just nine hours after leaving the King Power, following a 1-1 draw against West Brom on Monday night.
He watched a behind-closeddoors friendly against Nottingham Forest, but was called into a meeting afterwards with director of football Jon Rudkin, and given his cards.
