Kidnappers seize 4 Brit missionaries
FOUR British aid workers have been kidnapped by gunmen in Nigeria.
The missionaries were providing medical and religious services in a rural region of the country’s southern Delta state.
Local police reportedly think militant group the Karowei are the suspects.
But no ransom had been demanded, authorities say.
Delta police said the workers were snatched last Friday, October 13, from a town called Burutu, adding they were as yet unidentified missionaries providing free medical services.
The Foreign Office would not comment last night, but it has advised against travel to parts of southern Nigeria.
A number of foreigners have been kidnapped there in the past few years.
