BREXIT BOOST FOR JOBS
I read with interest your article on Transport Secretary Chris Grayling saying our farmers will have to grow more food as a way of getting round any post-Brexit tariffs (October 16).
As a Labour supporter, it pains me to say it but he’s right. And Labour MP Peter Kyle should look at the unemployment figures before saying the agriculture industry will face massive labour shortages without European workers. We have more than enough unemployed to fill their places.
We need to get people off benefits and into work, and I see this as a good opportunity to do just that. Maybe they would rediscover pride in having a job and cash in their pockets, instead of relying on handouts. MS Powell, Andover, Hants
