RONNIE’S SOFT SHOE SHUFFLE
Konta’s coach split after slump
JO KONTA has split from coach Wim Fissette after her season fell apart.
RONNIE O’SULLIVAN bowed to World Snooker wishes – and ditched his bright blue trainers last night.
The Rocket sprained his right ankle while out running before his first match at the English Open in Barnsley this week. The five-time world champion (left) donned the garish footwear for his opener against China’s Zhang Anda but was warned to revert to regulation black shoes for last night’s clash with Mark Davis. O’Sullivan immediately threatened to pull out of the event.
But the world No.12 eventually caved in to demands after a pair of black trainers were found to support his injured foot, and went out to beat Davis 4-1, helped by breaks of 68, 50, 136 and 134. Explore the region on this ten night, twelve day tour, discovering the most captivating areas including an overnight boat cruise on the rural backwaters, tea plantations in Munnar and wildlife spotting in Periyar National Park.
