Conte’s moans are painfully sad

-

ALL pain is relative.

So when Antonio Conte says Chelsea are in crisis due to recent hamstring injuries to three players and a summer transfer window that didn’t give him everything he wanted, you have to accept he genuinely feels hard done by.

However, if you are managing any of the other Premier League clubs outside Manchester, you would have to have a heart of stone not to cry with laughter at such a statement.

Not only did Chelsea spend £186million on five players this summer, they currently have 34 players out on loan and one of them, Tammy Abraham (right), has scored four league goals for Swansea and might have done a job as back-up to first-choice striker Alvaro Morata.

Sympathy for a Chelsea manager crying that his squad is “too thin” is rightly in very short supply.
