RESCUED BY A BLUE WONDER

-

FROM BACK PAGE Aleksandar Kolarov took advantage of the shambolic Blues defence with three goals before Hazard’s late leveller.

Hazard said: “It is a good result for both teams, but when you are 2-0 up at home, you must win the game.

“Edin Dzeko is a fantastic striker, but we stay first in the group.

“It’s a point and we will go over there to win the game. After two defeats, it’s not easy to bounce back.

“We gave everything until the end, scored one to equalise and maybe should have scored another to win the game.”

It is now three games in a row for Conte’s Premier League champions without a win.

Luiz had put the home side ahead on 11 minutes, with Hazard adding a second, eight minutes before the break.

But Kolarov struck back, five minutes before half-time, then Dzeko hit a wonder-goal in the 64th minute.

The Bosnian struck again, six minutes later, to put his side ahead, but Hazard rescued a point with 15 minutes left.

Dzeko said: “They scored three goals from three chances, which shows how good they are, but we had the right mentality and I’m very happy.”

Chelsea remain top of Group C, but will curse their failure to take advantage of Atletico Madrid’s draw in Qarabag.
