Afghan girl’s law triumph
AN Afghan girl who worked as a carpet weaver before coming to the UK 10 years ago has earned a first-class law degree.
Hameeda Hussani, 23, spoke no English when she settled with her parents in Peterborough, Cambs.
She now hopes to work as a lawyer in the City after graduating from Anglia Ruskin University.
Hameeda said: “Ever since I was a child I’d wanted to study law. Anybody can go as far as they want with the right determination and support.”
