Thug is jailed for ref attack

A SOCCER fan has been sent to prison after barging a referee to the ground.

Scott Prew, 23, reacted when official Bill Pashby, in his 60s, sent off three players in the Scarborough District League cup final.

Eastway Sports were 2-1 down to Goal Sports at Pickering, North Yorks, in March when a “shocking” act put Mr Pashby in hospital with a shoulder injury.

Prew, of Scarborough, admitted assault and was locked up for 18 months at York crown court.
