THOMSON IS SENT PACKING

-

Thomson, one of Britain’s best known travel names, was consigned to history yesterday.

German owner Tui finally completed a rebranding that began in 2015, with “Thomson” being replaced with its own name.

It marks the end of an era which began when Canadian media baron Roy Thomson started the travel firm in 1965.

Tui UK boss Nick Longman said the move was designed to show Thomson was more than just a package holiday operator.

He added: “We’ve all had great Thomson holidays over the years, but it can also be a bit limiting.”
