Digital Monday, disc November 6 The three Despicable Me animated adventures, plus their spin-off Minions movie, have grabbed an eye-watering £2.8billion at the global box office.

In comparison, Daniel Craig’s four James Bond movies have “only” accumulated £2.4bn.

This adventure alone took £776m, making it the second most successful in the series after the Minions movie.

There’s a heavy 1980s influence to this typically madcap, bubble gum-coloured animated sequel.

Steve Carell returns to voice Gru, the despicable villain-turned-secret agent, who takes his family to visit his long-lost brother Dru.
