Profits rose 10% to £13m last year but, in its annual report, the firm warned of risks from Brexit to the supply of workers, higher ingredient costs and regulation­s. The boss of cake maker Finsbury saw his pay and perks package nearly triple to £1.9million last year.

John Duffy almost doubled his £349,000 basic salary with a £302,000 annual bonus, and picked up more than £1.2m as a reward for how the firm had done over the past three years.
