ROOKIE TO GET LUCKY

-

WEST BROM have put rookie goalkeeper Alex Palmer on stand-by today. Ben Foster and Boaz Myhill are both fighting to be fit so 21-year-old Palmer (below) has travelled to the south coast ahead of a possible first-team debut. His only senior experience came in non-league football during two loan spells with Kidderminster. Foster missed the trip to Leicester on Monday with a knee injury while Myhill picked up a hamstring injury during the game. Both received the all-clear to train on Thursday but neither is certain to be fit. “Alex hasn’t played any league football,” said Baggies boss Tony Pulis. “It would be difficult for him to start in the Premier League but everyone has to start somewhere.”
