KIM Cattrall says she has “never been friends” with her Sex and the City co-stars – and Sarah Jessica Parker “could have been nicer”.

The star, 61, hit back after being branded a diva for refusing to appear as maneater Samantha Jones in a third spin-off film. She said of her co-stars: “We’ve never been friends. We’ve been colleagues and it’s a very healthy place to be. I don’t see them. The common ground we had was the series and the series is over.” Speaking of Parker, who played lead Carrie and was an executive producer, Kim said: “I think she could have been nicer. I don’t know what her issue is. I think the thing that still bothers me is this feeling of being in some way made to be the baddie. “I never asked for any money, any projects, to be thought of as some kind of diva is ridiculous.” She added that she gave producers “a firm and respectful no”. The two Sex and the City films grossed £300million each and continued the adventures of best pals Sam, Carrie, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis). But stressing the lack of a real bond, Kim added: “This is the irony. That was the fantasy of it but this is the reality. I’m being incredibly honest about them.” Speaking on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, which airs on ITV1 tonight at 9pm, she also insisted she will never play Samantha again, adding: “For me, it’s over and it’s over with no regrets. I just wish Sarah had been nicer.”
