SAXON WARRIOR and The Pentagon will bid to take Aidan O’Brien into racing’s record books in the Group 1 Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster next Saturday.

O’Brien (below), who has won the Group 1 juvenile contest on no fewer than seven occasions, said yesterday: “We are thinking of running The Pentagon and Saxon Warrior at Doncaster in the Racing Post Trophy.

“We will decide during the week.” Both colts feature prominently in the market for next year’s Derby.

O’Brien revealed Hydrangea and British Champions Long Distance Cup hero Order Of St George are set to race on in 2018.

He adding of the filly: “To do that over a mile and a half was something else.”
