SLAV MOOD HAS FANS WORRIED

- BY JOHN CROSS

THE depth of Slaven Bilic’s despair after West Ham’s defeat by Brighton on Friday has alarmed fans and the club.

Hammers chiefs, unwilling to sack Bilic, want to give him until the end of the season, especially with no immediate successor lined up.

But the Croat (left) looked distraught after Friday’s 3-0 defeat at home to the Premier League new boys. No decision on his future is expected this week but West Ham travel to fellow strugglers Palace on Saturday and another defeat would leave him on the brink.

Rafa Benitez is seen as the ideal replacement but may not wish to leave Newcastle United.
