‘Ban unpaid intern work’
THREE out of four people believe unpaid internships lasting four weeks or more ought to be banned.
And four out of five believe companies should advertise their placements.
The Social Mobility Commission quizzed 5,000 adults ahead of a House of Lords reading for Lord Holmes of Richmond’s bill demanding reforms.
Ex-MP Alan Milburn, who chairs the commission, said: “Unpaid internships are a modern scandal which must end.”
