Mum in court charged with murder of son after flat fall
A MUM yesterday appeared in court accused of murdering her toddler son who fell from a block of flats.
Gemma Procter, 23, wept as she was charged over 18-month-old Elliot’s death. She did not enter a plea but her solicitor Sajad Chaudhury indicated it would be not guilty.
A member of the public, believed to be her partner, shouted “love you, babe” as she was led away at the end of the hearing. Procter replied: “Love you, babe.” Mr Chaudhury made an appeal to anyone who had information about or footage of “behaviour” in the Bradford block where Elliot died on Saturday. He said: “People may have thought them insignificant but, for us, they may be significant.” Proctor was remanded in custody by magistrates in Bradford and will appear at the city’s crown court tomorrow.
