New N Korea warning over A-bomb test
NORTH Korea says its warning of a possible atomic bomb test over the Pacific should be taken “literally” by the US.
The declaration by a diplomat yesterday, as the rogue nation continues to arm itself with radioactive warheads, follows a ministerial threat last month.
Foreign affairs chief Ri Yong Ho said then that Pyongyang may consider “the most powerful detonation” of a hydrogen bomb in the atmosphere.
Now senior official Ri Yong Pil has said: “The foreign minister is well aware of supreme leader Kim Jong-un’s intentions.”
He warned the US: “So I think you should take his words literally.” The potential devastation of such a test could prompt preemptive US action.
