Foxes pick Puel to be new boss
LEICESTER CITY have appointed ex-Southampton boss Claude Puel as replacement for axed manager Craig Shakespeare on a three-year deal.
Frenchman Puel, 56, led the Saints to eighth as well as the EFL Cup final, but he was sacked in June amid fan unrest at his team’s performances.
Michael Appleton will remain as the Foxes’ assistant manager.
Leicester vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said Puel was “a perfect fit” and “he quickly emerged as the outstanding candidate... to reinforce our long-term vision”.
