Mel B mum: I’ve failed to protect her
MEL B’s mother has said she “failed to protect” the star during her alleged abusive marriage to Stephen Belafonte.
Andrea Brown spoke out amid claims the ex-Spice Girl was in 20 sex tapes – some alleged to be nonconsensual, while drugged – that will be evidence in her bitter divorce battle.
She is in California to support Mel, 42, and tweeted yesterday: “Cried so much lately. I 2 failed to protect her.”
Andrea, 60, from Leeds, West Yorks, is rebuilding her relationship with Mel after years of estrangement. She said previously: “We’re doing OK.”
Mel split from Belafonte, 42, in March and he denies all of her allegations.
