Offering much traditional creeping about in the dark with guns, this survivalist horror thriller succeeds by giving nothing away. A small family is scraping a low-tech living in a large isolated farmhouse after an apocalyptic event. But their guard is lowered when desperate strangers move in. Drenched in shadows and avoiding easy answers, it creates a masterful and almost maddening sense of mystery.

The impressive cast includes Joel Edgerton, Carmen Ejogo and Elvis’s grand-daughter Riley Keough.
