Barclays has its share of trouble

-

Alton Towers owner Merlin Entertainments has announced plans for a new £265million Legoland resort near New York due to open in 2020.

Profits at transport giant National Express jumped 12.3% over summer, with sales up in both the UK and overseas.

Mobile phone giant O2 is today launching flexible tariffs, allowing customers to change the deal they’re on once a month. TSB boss Paul Pester has said a Bank of England rate rise next week would be “warranted”.

Pester vowed to pass on the expected 0.25% base rate rise to savers and insisted it would add only £3 to a typical mortgage borrower’s monthly bill.

Meanwhile, TSB’s profit sank by 17% to £134million in the nine months to September 30, largely due to a fee for renting IT from Lloyds.

Underlying profits were flat.
