JOOST RECKONS OWLS CAN SOAR

NEW BOY Joost van Aken has seen enough of Sheffield Wednesday to believe they can grab promotion.

Carlos Carvalhal’s stuttering Owls have won just one of their last six games and are stranded in mid-table.

But the Dutch centre-back, who will step in for suspended Glenn Loovens in today’s South Yorkshire derby against Barnsley, said: “It’s exactly what I expected. I believe we are strong but we need to show this on the pitch and become consistent.

“If we are consistent we will go up.”
