FIGHT IS ON THE CARDS
A record £14billion lawsuit against Brit Awards sponsor MasterCard for allegedly ripping off millions of shoppers has been revived.
The claim – led by former financial services ombudsman Walter Merricks – centres on interchange fees paid by stores on debit or credit card transactions. It was blocked in a ruling by the Competition Appeal Tribunal in July. But lawyers for Merricks have now made an application to launch a High Court judicial review.
