HEMED CAN STAMP HIS AUTHORITY

-

Tomorrow, 1:30pm

TOMER HEMED will be fired up by a sense of injustice when he returns from suspension to face Southampton tomorrow.

The Brighton striker (above) is still fuming over the FA’s retrospective three-match ban for stamping on Newcastle defender DeAndre Yedlin.

Albion were adamant it was an accident but had an appeal thrown out and boss Chris Hughton believes Hemed now needs to channel his emotions at the Amex.

“It’s a big boost to have him back,” said Hughton. “And anything that’s going to get a bigger percentage out of him we have to try to benefit from.

“Probably the biggest thing for him, apart from a touch of injustice, is he was playing well before the ban. And when you’re in good form the last thing you need is four weeks where you can’t play. But he’s looked very good in training and will bring us sharpness in the box.”

Saints manager Mauricio Pellegrino gave winger Sofiane Boufal a ticking off over his goal celebration last week.

Sub Boufal scored a superb solo winner against West Brom, then thumped his chest after racing over to confront his boss.

Pellegrino, set to again leave Boufal on the bench at Brighton, said: “I’ve spoken with him. He has to learn to manage this type of reaction.”
