89 (2017)

- Brian Reade Columnist

I’m never scared watching a film, as my brain always tells me there are 30 bored crew members the other side of the camera.

But there’s a film out next month, 89, that contains footage that still sends a chill down my spine. Liverpool are seconds away from winning the double at Anfield, until Arsenal’s Lee Dixon punts the ball up to Alan Smith, who plays in Michael Thomas.

Thomas rolls with joy and men in red collapse. It’s Misery that Stephen King couldn’t match.
