Rape escape by WhatsApp

A RAPE victim was rescued by police after she sent a WhatsApp message to a friend pleading for help, a court heard.

The woman fled and locked herself in a room after Martin Booker, 28, beat her up and forced himself on her.

The friend rang 999 after getting the message at 5.30am and officers drove to the flat in Leyton, East London, to arrest Booker.

He was jailed for nine years at Snaresbrook crown court, East London.
