A DEVOTED 98-year-old mum has moved into a care home so she can look after her son – who is aged 80.

Tom Keating became a resident at the home last year. And now his mum Ada is living alongside her eldest child. And he is not too old to be told off. Tom said: “She’s very good at looking after me. Sometimes she’ll say, ‘behave yourself ’.” Widowed Ada, a retired auxil- iary nurse, admitted: “You never stop being a mum.” She added: “I say goodnight to Tom in his room every night and I’ll go and say good morning to him.

“When I go out to the hairdressers, he’ll look for me to see when I’m coming back. When I get back he’ll come to me with his arms outstretched and give me a big hug.”

Tom, a retired painter and decorator, never married and had always lived with his mum. He moved into the Moss View home in Huyton, Merseyside, when it was decided he needed more care. He said: “They’re very good here and I’m happy to see my mum more now she lives here.”

The mother and son, from Liverpool, love spending time together playing a board game or watching Emmerdale.

Care home boss Philip Daniels said: “It’s very touching to see the close relationship they share... They are inseparable.”
