JOSE IN THE DARK OVER POGBA RETURN

-

JOSE MOURINHO says he has “no idea” when Paul Pogba will return from injury.

Manchester United’s £89million midfielder, out since pulling a hamstring against Basel in early September, has not yet returned to full training.

The France star, who has been rehabilitating in Miami, has returned to the club’s Carrington training ground but is not working with the first team. Mourinho said: “I have no idea when he will be back. I am not in control of his recovery process. He is not training with me. He is on individual work and when a player is on individual work I cannot predict. I would expect Marcos Rojo to return after the international break but with Paul I have no idea.”

When asked how United had done in the absence of Pogba (above), Mourinho said: “We won every match except one. Two? Well, two, so not bad.” Pogba’s relationship with Mourinho has appeared strained because of his fitness issues and suggestions that he ignored medical advice on a hamstring problem

Mourinho said United fans were within their rights to boo him after his decision to substitute Marcus Rashford for Anthony Martial against Spurs was jeered. “They pay for their tickets so they can boo the manager,” he said.
