Champion-chip off old block
AFTER retaining his world heavyweight titles, British boxer Anthony Joshua is joined in the ring by his father Robert.
The dad held his son’s championship belts and fanned him with a towel as he was interviewed on TV about the victory.
Irish/Nigerian Robert flew from his homeland in West Africa to Cardiff to see his 6ft 6in lad beat Carlos Takam.
Joshua, 28, said after the fight at the Principality Stadium: “This is my dad – fresh from Nigeria.” In his dressing room before the bout, Joshua met Man United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Later actor Idris Elba arrived to celebrate the win.
