BEST CAKE Kate’s toffee and apple cake

IT was quite early in the competition – week four – when Kate proved her potential.

Her showstopping sticky toffee apple cake was a winner, with Prue Leith declaring it “the best cake I’ve ever tasted”. She even asked Kate for the recipe.

The cake is apparently a favourite with Kate’s family on Bonfire Night and it certainly got “oohs” and “aahs” in the tent too.
