OFCOM received 55 complaints after Noel Fielding was shut in a fridge for a short gag on Bake Off.

Some mums worried their kids would try to copy the stunt, even though you needed to remove all the racks to pull it off. The watchdog decided not to investigate Channel 4 or Noel.

A spokesman said in a statement: “We assessed complaints that a scene in this programme was potentially dangerous and could be imitated by children.

“We found that the scene was very brief and occurred later in the programme, when younger children were least likely to be watching.

“All fridges made after 1960 must include a mechanism to open the door from the inside.”
