EasyJet is buying part of stricken carrier Air Berlin’s business, including landing slots in Germany and the leases on up to 25 planes.

Ford Money (0345 266 1231) has increased interest rates on its one and two-year fixed-rate ISAs. The one-year has gone from 1.2% to 1.25%, and the two-year now pays 1.45%, up from 1.33%.

Today is the deadline for getting paper self-assessment tax returns to HM Revenue & Customs. While most people now complete online returns, with a deadline of January 31, there are still large numbers who opt for the traditional paper forms. Miss today’s deadline and you’ll get slapped with a £100 fine.
