Compo for Lee family

-

LEE Rigby’s murderers showed him no justice, so the revulsion is understandable when one of the jailed killers demands taxpayers’ money to sue for £25,000.

Michael Adebolajo claims he was injured by prison officers and wants compensation.

The dangerous, devious Islamist moans he lost two teeth while being restrained in his cell at high-security Belmarsh.

But insiders say the jihadi disobeyed orders and taunted prison officers.

Everybody else is more concerned that Lee lost his life in Woolwich when Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale tried to hack off his head.

So sympathy for the murderer is close to zero, if not zero itself.

Yet we must be better than these animals and it is right that prisoners retain basic rights in a civilised country, including legal representation to pursue cases of alleged mistreatment.

So let lawyers be appointed to represent the terrorist, as they were to defend him at trial.

And if he is deemed to be owed compensation, let it be paid to Lee’s family or deducted from the bill he owes for a life behind bars.
