Hunt: medics ‘had a point’

HEALTH Secretary Jeremy Hunt has admitted the junior doctors who went on strike over new contracts last year “had a point”.

At the Commons Health Select Committee, he said he understood medics’ concerns that “patient safety” was being affected by a shortage of doctors.

He said: “The truth is we do need more doctors in the NHS.” He had increased the number of training places for doctors by 25%.
