Parties failing abuse victims
NOT since the expenses scandal has Westminster been in such a frenzy.
In this feverish atmosphere it is difficult to separate real cases of abuse from office gossip.
The “dirty dossier” naming 36 Tory MPs is a case in point. Its authors are anonymous and much of its content is speculative.
Some of the MPs are accused of serious offences others are included for being in a consensual relationship.
The inclusion of tittle tattle should not distract from the fact there is a culture of sexism and bullying in Westminster and there are genuine victims of appalling behaviour.
All parties have a problem here and all stand guilty of failing their employees.
