SWIFT WORK FOR ROYALS

JOHN SWIFT scored twice to help ease the pressure on under-fire Reading manager Jaap Stam.

The former Chelsea midfielder struck in each half to steer the Royals towards only a second win in 10 matches.

Reading took the lead after 13 minutes when Leandro Bacuna popped up on the left and his deft cross was despatched by Swift.

A brilliant lob wedge of a pass from Mo Barrow teed up Swift for his second after 70 minutes, and £6.5million summer signing Sone Aluko made it three. Ben Osborn scored a late consolation for Forest.
