THE fear in Downing Street is Michael Fallon will not be the only scalp of the Westminster sleaze scandal.
We do not know the full reason why the Defence Secretary quit.
But many will assume, whatever the denials, it was for a more severe offence than touching a radio host’s knee.
And if Fallon’s knee-touching is the bar for resignation, then where does that leave other ministers accused of more serious misdemeanours?
This is what will be causing panic in No10.
Theresa May cannot control the events unleashed by the allegations of sexual harassment swirling around Westminster. Any attempt to draw the line with a limited reshuffle could come quickly unstuck if fresh allegations emerge about another minister.
More people could come forward at any moment to claim they were victims of abuse.
Other politicians may look into their souls (and their past) and decide they should depart before being exposed for wrongdoing.
