MATES Nick, Harry and his floral suit

Sky1, 9pm This new comedy drama comes from the makers of Cold Feet and follows the Pemberton family who – despite the orange bigot in the White House – still believe in the American dream. So dad Mal (Philip Glenister), mum Jen (Lesley Sharp) and their two teens are leaving rainy Yorkshire and moving to the Sunshine State, to run an RV park full of big mobile homes.

Unfortunately, the park is an impulse purchase by Mal after seeing pictures of it on the internet, but without actually visiting in the flesh. And – as anyone who’s ever done online dating knows – sometimes the reality really doesn’t match up.

Their RV park is a rundown dump, populated by some rather eccentric and unsavoury characters – the fab American cast includes Tarzan from Magic Mike and Beverly Leslie from Will & Grace.

And, for Mal and Jen, what should have been a dream soon becomes a nightmare. NIGHTMARE Phil Glenister as Mal BBC1, 8pm
