Tory MPs in Brexit files vote defeat
DESPERATE ministers failed to dodge a humiliating Commons defeat over Europe last night.
Tory MPs sat out a vote on whether the Government should publish 58 impact assessments outlining how quitting the EU will hit Britain.
Labour used the rare parliamentary tool of a “humble address” that requests the Queen to order Brexit Secretary David Davis to release them. The motion was passed unanimously.
International Trade Secretary Liam Fox blasted European politicians who believe the UK should be “punished” financially.
He told MPs: “The language is the language of a gang not of a club and should be avoided.”
