Extradition bid on Arena bomber’s bro
POLICE are seeking to extradite the brother of Manchester Arena bomber Salman Abedi to face murder charges in the UK, they announced last night.
Hashem Abedi, 20, is being held by a militia in Libya. Counter-terrorism officers were granted an extradition warrant from the Home Office which was passed to the Libyan government yesterday.
Officers said they were “grateful” for its response.
The warrant is for 22 murders, attempted murder and conspiracy to cause an explosion.
Police now believe 512 people were injured – physically or“profoundly traumatised” – by 22-yearold Salman’s suicide attack at an Ariana Grande concert in May.
