Freeview blames high air pressure for glitch
FREEVIEW said high air pressure caused disruption experienced by its users in England and Wales.
The service accesses digital TV channels via aerials, so programmes can be seen without a satellite or cable subscription. But some viewers were unable to watch their channels on Tuesday evening. It meant fans of The Great British Bake Off missed the final.
Freeview said on its website: “We recommend you do not retune your equipment, as reception will return to normal once the weather changes.” It warned that heavy rain or snow could also disrupt pictures.
A predicted change in the weather on Thursday should be more favourable for transmissions.
