Dinos died in a bigger chill
THE asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs 66 million years ago turned Earth into an “ice world”, researchers claim.
It threw up 325 billion tons of sulphur – which blocked out sunlight – three times as much as previously thought.
Imperial College London said their results “better capture its immediate effects on the atmosphere”.
The seven-mile-wide asteroid hit Mexico and experts have said temperatures fell by 26C.
